Lab-grown is not a shortcut. It is a deliberate choice, made on ethics, transparency and value. Here is why we build every Brilliani piece around it.

The same stone, different origin

Chemically identical.
Differently sourced.

A lab-grown diamond is chemically and physically identical to a mined diamond. Same carbon structure. Same hardness. Same brilliance. The IGI grades both using exactly the same criteria. The only thing that differs is where the stone came from. That is precisely the point.


What mining looks like

A supply chain we cannot verify

Diamond mining moves hundreds of tonnes of earth per carat recovered. It is energy-intensive and land-disruptive. In parts of the world it is also tied to exploitative labour conditions. We are not interested in a supply chain we cannot verify.

What lab-grown looks like

Two methods. One result.

HPHT

High Pressure,
High Temperature

Replicates the extreme pressure and heat conditions deep within the earth. A small diamond seed crystal is placed in carbon and exposed to temperatures above 1,400°C and pressures exceeding 1.5 million PSI. The carbon crystallises around the seed into a fully formed diamond.

CVD

Chemical Vapour
Deposition

A diamond seed is placed in a chamber filled with carbon-rich gas. Microwaves ionise the gas into plasma, causing carbon atoms to bond to the seed layer by layer. The result is a diamond that grows over weeks in a controlled environment.

On value

Honest pricing,
no artificial scarcity

Lab-grown diamonds cost significantly less than mined stones of equivalent grade. That is not a sign of lower quality. It is a sign of a supply chain without artificial scarcity. At Brilliani, that saving is passed to you. Not absorbed into margin.

Moissanite

A stone in its own right

Moissanite is not a diamond simulant. It is a distinct stone (silicon carbide, first discovered in a meteorite crater) produced in laboratories and certified by the GRA. We sell it because it is genuinely exceptional: harder than any gemstone except diamond, with a brilliance index higher than diamond itself.

It deserves to be sold as what it is.
